Different from other screen recording programs, BandiCam has two larruping recording modes to capture screen. You can select any of them by clicking “Target” button.

Mode 1: DirectX/OpenGL Window

DirectX stands for a series of application programming interfaces to deal with works concerned with multimedia, such as game programming and video. OpenGL, short for Open Graphics Library, is often used in video games, CAD and fight simulation. The two capturing technologies can get the recording file with high quality, and its compressing thecnology make the file small.

In this recording mode, you ask to select window based on DirectX or OpenGL interface, and it can select the window as the recording area to record. Therefore, it’s perfect to record video from media player like VLC, WMP, QuickTime and record video games, such as WoW, MineCraft and StarCraft etc.

When you record, you should click a target window or input the window name on the provided box, then click “Record” button, and it will start to record.

Mode 2: Rectangle on a screen

When select “Rectangle on a screen”, a blue rectangle window will appear on the screen. You can drag it to anywhere on screen to record screen video, and you can drag the window edge to adjust the window size to select recording area, even the entire screen. When you click “REC” on the top right corner of the window, the rectangle will become red, which means it starting to record.

Besides, there is a camera icon on this window. You can click it to capture screenshot. You can trigger the hotkey to record screenshot, customizing it in image settings. And the program can output the image to multiple formats, such as BMP, PNG, JPG-Normal and JPG-High quality.

Record audio from microphone

This program can record audio from system speakers, it also support to record external voice through microphone, while you should customize general settings about it. Firstly, click “video” tab and click “Settings”, then it will pop up a Record Settings window, then click “Sound” tab to enable Microphone.
